what am I doing wrong? Every time I grab a scroll bar on the internet browser or app manager repositories, I seem to click on an item and not the scrollbar... Really sucks when I'm trying to add a shortcut to the desktop. I am using the stylus and my fingers.

The scrollbar that you see cannot be clicked upon or dragged - it's just an indication of where you are in the view. You need to drag the contents of the window up and down to scroll. Search youtube for some N900 vids to see.
