I still waiting for XMPP/Jingle on N9(50). It's such a killer feature which is still missing.

Better news than what I heard last time I spoke to devs via IRC
http://nokiagadgets.com/2011/11/24/p...ded-next-week/
They wouldn't give me any time-frame for vid-chat last time.

It appears that vid-chat is in-fact close, if you're prepared to do some beta testing.
They've left it out of a release they putting into the Nokia store now.

It's not clear if they're still planning to implement XMMP/Jingle "&" Skype as originally/boldly planned.
But I haven't looked into it all closely yet, beyond the story above, so go crazy folks.

I think he is talking about those guys that say

"Woozahhh, why isn't this working...IT EVEN HAZ WORKING ON N900 BEFORZ!"

Though I much appreciate this feature, it goes second for me, because Skype voice calling is the main feature that's needed at 99% of the time. I only used video two or three times on my N900.
Mainly because the front camera is just too crappy to display any good pictures in dim conditions....*thinks*...wait...damn...I can tell what's going to be posted here as soon as video support is added )

Roundup: Thanks for keeping up the good work developing for Meego / Harmattan. And don't get down because people complain about changes

Is it out yet? I've been constantly checking their home page and nothing yet. There's only the twit from 9 days ago about the release of 1.1 without video.. Or is it going to be released somewhere else???

I you read the story I linked to this is what they said:

We where really busy during the last days on finishing Peregrine 1.1 Release. It will be out during the next weeks so stay tuned. Since we still have issues regarding the build in Video Codecs of the N9 we decided to postpone our highly anticipated Video Call Feature to a later Version. Anyway we target to have a experimental Release on this Website soon. If you think you can help here, feel welcome to give us a visit on our irc channel on freenode.
So you need to jump onto IRC and put your hand up for the beta testing.
Thee IRC channel was listed on their site last time I used it.

The channel = #peregrine
So just plug that into any IRC client, and away you go!
On my OSX desktop....
I can click on this URL on their site, & it launches my IRC client: irc://irc.freenode.net
But that may not be the case on your N9*, assuming that's what you're trying to do.

So has anyone approached them on IRC yet, and offered to do some beta testing?
C'mon people, we need some soldiers to put their hands up!
If the freaking white N9 was in Australia I would've bought it by now, & would be testing away.

*does the N9 even have an IRC client?
