Hi,

I have already spent 2 mon ths trying to find out how to
switch my Bluetooth usb dongle, connected to virtual com15 port at my PC running XP Windows into discovery mode,
sending Bluetooth AT Commands
and each time I try to type anything in Hyperterminal it crashes.

I was told I need to pair my Bluetooth usb dongle with another bluetooth enabled modem (cell phone) to use Bluetooth AT Commands.
Ok. I can try.

But please let me know how Blutooth devices discovery mode works
in Widcomm, Bluesoleil application/drivers (XP Windows)
and in maemo-bt-plugin, BTScanner, maemo mapper applications (Nokia)
without prior paring with anything .

I was told I need to use HCI Bluetooth commands instead of Bluetooth AT commands.

I can't install minicom on my Nokia tablet to see if AT bluetooth commands work on Nokia.

So please let me in plain textwhat do I need on Nokia Tablet or PC to
query Bluetooth usb dongle and switch it into select discovery mode
to read ma addresses of bluetooth devices in nearby and save them to text file.

Do I really need to install another analog modem on my PC to make thinks working ?
And what about Nokia tablet, not having such modem installed.
Do I need to paier Bluetooth enabled cell phone first ?

If yes, so why ?
Widcomm/Bluesoleil install virtual modems on PC anyway.
