Hi all,

I recently got a Buffalo wireless router, and since the switch, I can no longer see my wireless AP. If I run the iwlist wlan0 scanning command on the phone itself, I do not see the AP. However, if I run it on my linux laptop, this is what I see:

Any ideas why I can see it on my laptop and not on my phone? My laptop is also a G wireless card.

Are you using the power kernel?

See this thread for details: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=60596

It's a bug in the power kernel.

That did it, I upgraded to the latest firmware and it works perfectly now.

Is there a new power kernel out that works?

When I say upgraded it, I upgraded the firmware of the wireless router. If you follow the link, you'll notice that some other people have apparently tried a different kernel and reported that resolved the issue as well. Upgrading the phone appears to be a little more difficult since it is even less of a standard upgrade process (you have to manually download and install it, as opposed to using apt-get ...).

What link are you referring to?

And you upgraded the router to a newer version of ddwrt?

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=60596&page=4

After reading comments about a certain version of firmware of the DD-WRT router causing issues, I decided to upgrade to the latest.

That fixed the issue for me.
