Dr. Ari Jaaksi, Nokia`s Director for Open Source Operations - Multimedia

regarding Nokia 770 feedback that they have been getting from the early
adopters. The gathered feedback has been devided into three categories:
hardware, applications, and the system itself.


On the hardware aspect, he mentions that "the ideas of expandability make
a lot of sense but they’d easily contradict with a durable and
affordable device," which will make the cost of the device go higher. He
points out that the Nokia 770 is correctly priced, given its size and it
gorgeous screen.

His information was interesting and I agreed on most points. On the ebook reader they need to support ereader at least. They also must add more memory to this device and keep the price the same. Flash memory is really dropping in price. I could get thumb drives with more memory for around $40 heck $20.

*And* redesign the circuitry, *and* reconfigure your production lines, *and* pay for all the QA, redesign, and redevelopment? That's lookin like a $120 memory stick there.

If will connect to a BT KB easily, I'll pay the $120! Hah!

Let's not forget -- I will have to pay for the next iteration of the 770. Make me *want* to, Nokia!

It does connect to a BT KB already, you just need a xmodmap file.

I have high hopes for the next round. I agree that the price/features were right on release, but i find the screen to be overkill- and a low ballat the same time due to app bugs requiting horizontal scrolling anyway.
