Best guess, its the client ID that vendors use to access Google API

A quick search reveals man similar, and I do think this is related to vendors capability to connect from their (mass) devices using API provided by Google.

If I remember correctly something similar was also there for the N900.. I think it used to be ms-nokia instead of ms-nokia-meego

Just checked with my N900 and it is true:
