I seem to have a similar issue as some others previously: when I am sharing e.g. a photo from the gallery I can only select the root folder from my dropbox account. If I click 'update' button to get the other folders visible the application just hangs.

I have the latest Nine2D version 0.1.2. I also tried installing the debug version. I recreated my account and while running update I also captured the syslog messages. As shown below the application hangs at 19:52:31 while running: Item "folder" update...
I waited for over a minute and then clicked Cancel.

I did some experiments and noticed that I can create sub-folders to the root folder (although it seemed that the sub-folder wasn't created at the dropbox end until I shared something to that folder). But it really would be nice to also get the existing folders visible.

Code:

First of all - thank you for excellent error report - everything that should be reported is in your post!

Back to subject - I've just tried updating my folder list and it works for me, so I guess that the problem might be in your particular folder structure (not likely) or some "strange" letters in folder names (more likely). I'll post more verbose debug build this afternoon/evening and in the meantime you could check if renaming folders with diacritics (or other "non pure" letters/numbers) makes any difference. This particular problem was present before 0.0.10, but it's possible that the applied fix is not working for all letters/numbers/symbols combinations.

I've uploaded more verbose debug version: please redownload/reinstall it from the first post and proceed as described here: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...7&postcount=57

Thanks for the prompt response! I installed the debug version and looked at the log files. Seems you were correct about the possible cause being special characters in the folder names. I had one folder named like follows:

Code:
Helsingin Sanomat [la, 03 maalis 2012] (9)
To me it looked like the application went into an endless loop.

Here is an excerpt from the log file. There is a strange path string: 11 "/././././././././././." that is getting longer and longer.

Code:
Apr 14 21:43:51 (2014) ninedbox: fileinfo: generating contents list
Apr 14 21:43:51 (2014) ninedbox: fertig
Apr 14 21:43:51 (2014) ninedbox: fertig
Apr 14 21:43:51 (2014) ninedbox: ""
Apr 14 21:43:51 (2014) ninedbox: 11 "/././././././././././."

Apr 14 21:43:51 (2014) ninedbox: value = " "dropbox""
If needed I can send you the whole log file. But I guess the problem is caused by the square brackets in the folder name. When I removed the problem folder the update started working.

I'm able to reproduce the behaviour, so I'll take a crack at it this evening. Thanks for reporting! You can uninstall debug version and install normal build from openrepos, so you'll get notified when new version is available.

Fixed version 0.1.3 is in first post, and uploaded to OpenRepos.net.
Please report any problems.

I just downloaded and installed version 0.1.3 from OpenRepos.net.

Now it works just great - and even with those bracketed folders...

Thanks a lot!

Just posting to say thank you for your effort! It's a perfect addition that makes the N9 whole again.

Starting to get the feeling Im the only one still using the N9, haha

So I got this installed and I uploaded 1 test picture, worked great.

Now when I tried to upload more (50 pictures) it just hung on the upload screen.

I deleted the account and re-added, then tried to upload 2 pictures, the upload bar just hung and never completed

Deleted account again and restarted and tried to upload only 1 picture, upload bar never moved from 0%

Any ideas?
