I know atom is well..atom. But keep in mind even though Ubuntu and other OSes were designed to run on ARM, most software is not. If it were me, until ARM gained more traction in the PC world, I would stick with X86.

@railroadmaster, I didn't get what this site will help about... sorry.

@pantera, I know, and I don't think arm will substitute x86 for some years to come, it will take much work from them to make an arm run like my AMD X6, or a tegra alike chip run like my graphic cards.

Anyway, I am much likely to buy the dm1z now, it only arrives in my country next month anyway, the ones I've been finding were coming form the US so I would pay high taxes, and next month they will cost at least 30 % less.

im glad that i could help, also amd is gonna release its newer e450 processor very soon aswell. so you might be able to get a hp or lenovo at a greater discount.

*note its only a small spec bump so dont worry.

I got an HP dvt7 Quad Edition and it's great! I don't know why you are saying not to go for HP.. But I would like to say never go with Gateway/Acer.. They seriously have THE WORST customer service on Earth. I've had 2 Gateway laptops and an Acer desktop and they all failed on me (motherboard issues, all of them; all different machines too).. And I have so much trouble trying to take care of the issue.
