When GPS fix is not established my location is shown in the middle of Ukraine (I live here). But it's very far from actual location - Kyiv. Does anyone know a way to change this dummy location?

A good question!

I just tried if minigpsd would provide a solution, but couldn't install it:
Code:
# apt-get install minigpsd
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
minigpsd: Depends: bluez-utils-test but it is not installable
Depends: python2.5-gnome but it is not installable
E: Broken packages
minigpsd - Faster, more efficient gpsd replacement which includes support for logging to kml, gpsgate, extra (OBD2) data, integrated google maps and webpage or kml server, and simultaneous internal/bluetooth GPS.

@zimon: try apt-get install bluez-utils-test python2.5-gnome before installing minigpsd

My way to use is launching another application that use GPS, such as "GPS Recorder" and wait it for fix(usually within 10 sec, 5 sec when at outdoor).

Package bluez-utils-test is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package bluez-utils-test has no installation candidate

I don't believe mini-gpsd is operable on the n900.

So there is no way to change this? I too would like it to point to a city I live in.
