i've only done this with youtube but will test it on other websites now.

1. basically go to whatever website contains the video.
2. watch the video in crappy flash 9 software video rendering
3. go to MyDocs/tmp, in there will be a file called Flash123jhko or something, which is the video you just watched.
4. rename the video to something.avi
5. move it to somewhere it'll be picked up by the tracker, e.g. MyDocs/.videos for most people
5. open maemo media player, and watch it using hardware acceleration.

How's about that then..!

Discuss.

I'm sure someone will point out what's wrong with this soon..

edit: this does beg the question of whether or not the same thing can be done with the up till now useless t.i libflash10 hack.

nothing wrong with that method, most of us use it, you can play 480p youtube easily, find a video, let it buffer, when it is done buffering, copy to file in the tmp dir to where ever.

There is actually an app that does just this

You dont even have to rename it to .avi, even if you leave it .flv it'll make the trick. I have been doing this since I got the N900.

This only true for flash video. But flash can do more.

True, copying is not necessary either, clicking on the file in filebrowser and opening with KMplayer works perfectly!
