are you 100% sure that is your school config? For me it's
WPA EAP
TTLS
none
MSCHAPv2

slightly different from OP.

finally, i'm able to connect to my uni's wlan network, this is how..
there are 2 networks in my uni, UConnect & UConnect-Setup, i connected to UConnect-Setup, login by entering username and password and obtain and register an MAC address first. i had to do this with Ubuntu as well but i didn't need to last year..

then only i can connect to UConnect and:
Connection name: UConnect
Network name (SSID): UConnect
Use Automatically: No
Network Mode: Infrastructure
Security Method: WPA EAP
WPA EAP type: PEAP
Select certificate: None
EAP Method: EAP MSCHAPv2
Username: <username> without domain
Password: <password>

Advanced settings:
Proxy configuration: No proxy
Auto-retrieve IP address: Yes
Auto-retrieve DNS address: Yes
Manual username: Yes
Manual username: <username> without domain as well
Require client authentication: No
Hidden WLAN: No
WPA2 only mode: No

1. Select New Connection
2. Enter Connection Name
3. Scan for available wi-fi network - select "No" if it is hidden network
4. Enter the exact SSID (if it is hidden then select Hidden checkbox)
5. Network mode: Infrastructure
6. Security method: WPA with EAP (this is what I selected for connecting to my office network)
7. EAP Type: PEAP
8. Select Certificate: None
9. EAP Method: EAP MSCHAPv2
these are most important steps:::
10. User name: ONLY ENTER User Name - no domain is required here
11. Password: enter valid password
12. Click Next and then click "Advanced"
13. Click "EAP" tab
14. Select "Use manual user name" checkbox
15. Enter "Manual user name" as username@domain --- very important.
16. Save
17. Finish

You are all SET. Setps 10 to 15 are very important.
This is working like charm for me and I hope it works for you all...
YOU ROCK! THANK YOU. I just spent the afternoon trying to make this work and I was doubtful of your method (sorry), but it works! Thanks.

PS: The domain steps (14 and 15) were what I was missing.
PPS: I created an account on this forum just to express my gratitude, so thank you again!
