Hello

I Just tried sending an email from my phone, and it wouldnt send, its brings up smtp autentifivation faild. Check user name and password or that you have access to smtp.gmail.com
im able to recieve emails and i have been able to send emails, ive not dont this for a few weeks though but has been working fine, i recently updated the n900 firmware to 1.3 could this be the problem? Ive checked all my settings i deleated the email account on my phone and set it up again, it still doesnt work... Ive tried connecting through wifi and 3g still doesnt work!! Is there anyone that could possibaly help with this?

ok dont worry.. changed my passwrd to a new one on my gmail and then changed it on the n900 to the new password and it worked! How GAY

Not very helpful but mine is working fine with PR1.3 since it rolls out with gmail account.
Check again your smtp settings:

Outgoing server*(SMTP) -> smtp.gmail.com
Secure authentication -> Login
User name* -> yourname (!without @gmail.com!)
Password -> *************
Secure connection -> SSL
Port -> 465 (there is alternative port you can try instead: 587 or 25 - most ISP block this by default! )
[ ] Use connection specific SMTP servers <- not checked!
