Hey all, there's a cool video Jason DeRose uploaded to the Novacut Vimeo channel.

It seems to be a prototype for cutting video that's running on the n900. If you look closely you'll notice Firefox Mobile flash on the screen for a moment.

WOW - this would be PERFECT! Now I'm considering to donate to the project (before I thought that I already had KDEnlive).

Ah, looks like this is one of their demos they made for their kickstarter campaign. They have a link to where you can try it here!

Think this could be the video editor we've been waiting for?

Hi! While it's probably a ways off before Novacut becomes a solid, production-ready tool, we've heard our little demo generated a lot of interest within the Maemo community. Currently we're focused on developing on Ubuntu, and we really don't have the time to focus on porting dmedia to Maemo and Meego, but if there's an enterprising community member out there who would like to port our stuff, we'd do what we can to help.

dmedia is the foundation of Novacut, can be used by other apps, and implements the hard colloborative bits. It's built on CouchDB, so that would need to be ported if it hasn't been already.

Code is on Launchpad:

Cheers and rock on!

To me, it looks like it's based on Python?
I'll try this in my mini-SDK and see how it works out.
Are there any special depencies that are required?

In theory, there wouldn't be much problems with it unless it has components that require OpenGL or code that doesn't run on ARM.

I think the main dependency would be couchdb.
