Besides, you can use a stylus to scratch places you can't reach with your finger.

Styluses are very useful tools for getting wok done with small items on touch screens, thus making the use of low resulotion more efficient.

That article is a torturous way to make a simple point.
Lack of stylus = lack of precision. Want an iPad you can use with sketch apps? You'll want a stylus.

I don't care about sketch apps, and I can't think of anything else where you'd actually want a stylus.
I don't want to have to use a stylus; I want to be able to use my phone just with my fingers (preferably one-handed). And I think the current success of many phones with capacitive touch screens shows that many people agree with me.

It's not stylus vs finger here. 90% of the time, I use my finger on the n900, but I really find the stylus handy for sketch, handwriting, etc apps. You don't have to give up good finer usability to support styluses.

The problem with "choice" is that if the programmer programs for stylus use, finger use will be awkward and not really work "out in the world."
I'd actually like the choice, if the programmer was forced to design and test without one!
