Thanks, never tested it on the 3G. Will take a look.

Looks like you are on the right track fast: it shows the cell tower ID on 2G.

is it can start an alarm just by changing the cell tower ?
As when you are going to an unknown city you dont know cellID there so you can make it as an option .. Just if the cell id changed the alarm starts
thanks in advance

The GSM Alarm (just fixed it in 0.2.3) will trigger on any cell change, even if you had the connection before: it works exactly as you describe, isn't it?

Two next improvements with the highest priority:
1. [DONE] Switch to dbus module for the netwotrk detection on the start. (cellinfo.py from netmon as a base).
2. Ability to edit the CellID database.

Finally, 0.3.0 adds the basic edit method. It's not ideal but reltively simple to make.
Maybe in the future I'll try to switch to QTreeView.

Editing is welcome, thank you.

It would also be nice if it were possible to make a location active or not active for an alarm. That way you could sleep past a stop you do not always have to make when needed.

Do you mean multiple alarms being active simultaneously?

Yes.

I may have been using it differently from you. I have been using it for notification of areas where speed limits change on a route.

I have noticed how after selecting "Stop" on the alarm screen when an alarm is activated that I must select "GSM Alarm" again on the restinpeace screen to be ready for the next alarm on a route. Would there be an argument against leaving the "GSM Alarm" status on after an alarm is activated? That would simplify multiple/sequential alarms along a route.

AFAIU, triggering alarm on any saved CellID will be sufficient for you, am I right? Also, I've just understood that including group name into the alarm text is a nice improvement.
