Anybody know how to install it on the OS2008? I got the Chinook deb, but it complains about needing a whole slew of dependencies; e.g., libasound2, libatk1.0-0, libdbus-1-3, etc.

Try this one instead http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.o.../binary-armel/

Yes, that is the one I am referring to. Any ideas? I'm trying to install it via the app manager.

Why make it all so complicated?
Just go here with your N900 browser:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/m/beta

It will add the repo and download & install Firefox.

I installed from deb, but whenever I start Fennec I got windows with:
<window id="main-window"
^
and nothing more.
Closing Fennec doesn't close the process, and have to "pkill" it.
I removed .mozilla folder, but still doesn't work.

What happens if you try doing it through terminal?

If you installed Firefox from Ovi, you are unable to install it from there. It's not complicated, is impossible.
