The application manager is quite slow down here..i have also tried faster application manager but it is not soo good..whn i tried installing few applications via fast application manager it first downloaded all the files taking so long time and then during installation..it jst told the app cant be installed..

o0 wut? Your going to have to copy&paste the output so we can see what you mean.

You have to press 'y' to say 'yes, install this application'.

If the name of the application is rosebud you install it with

apt-get install rosebud

You have to be root.

Before you install anything you might get into the habit of running

apt-get update

(as root)

It's a good thing to run, and it also gives you error messages worth noting.

if its a large package it may take a while to install, not all of them give a detailed output, if you want to test have a look in app manager for a small package and try installing that through xterm, however getting the <name of application> bit right can be tricky if you dont know it.

Or alternatively you can press Ctrl+C to break operation, then click on the small icon that looks like a mouse pointer from PC, which will then allow you to highlight the text output in terminal. From there, once highlighted, press Ctrl+C (which is Copy), swap into the forum, open a new reply in this thread and press Ctrl +V (Paste).

Output. Delivered.
