Has anyone managed to get the above (Android) application working on their Jolla?

It sadly crashes during installation for me.

Ok - got it working by renaming the tmp file that Google Play downloaded into /data/app-private, copied it to /data/app folder, and installing directly from that apk.

So now Stellarium Mobile works - but sadly doesn't seem to pick up the compass ...

Installed, working smoothly. I have Sky Map (Android SW) already installed, have to compare to that at some point.

Unfortunately, Stellarium does not work with the last OS version of Sailfish.

I contacted the developer and he said that he doesn't use the Jolla anymore (he uses the N9 instead). He was disappointed by Jolla mostly due to the company's attitude toward native app development. Sad

He also said that if there is interest and the change is trivial, or someone contributes patches, he might update it.

So if someone is willing (and capable) to help, he is warmly welcome!

I did a small modification that prevents it from segfaulting at startup. But I am not sure this has some impact elsewhere.

edit: removed (large) RPM because it is tested by Jordi in the meantime.

I will leave it there for a short while. If it looks okay I could ask the author what he thinks about it.

@ade, thanks a lot!! It's working. Even if there are some UI freezes, at least it is usable.

I will report this to the developer, hopefully, he will finalise the work.

This rpm alone does not help him. He needs to know what has been changed. I will send you a PM with more details.

I sent the developer the details @ade gives me, he answered me that he eventually will correct the program.

So, right now, it's usable even though it freezes sometimes (quite often, in fact). It can be relaunched by clicking on a button.

In the mean time, you will find this version in Metacrane (crane name: Stellarium), I'll leave it there a few days.
