Title says it all. I gather that MtPaint is a paint style programme and there's a version that runs on Maemo 4.

I was wondering whether there might be a version in the works for maemo 5? It's another of those dream things I'd like n900 to do. For people like me with poor hand-eye co-ordination using paint on a touch screen would be a blessing.

Any hope?

I grabbed the latest version from debian armel (sid) by downloading it from http://packages.debian.org/sid/armel/mtpaint/download.

After downloading the deb-package, I unpacked it and copied a single file (mtpaint) from the package's /usr/bin directory to /opt/mtpaint-debian/ (after creating this directory). I also created an alias in my /home/user/.profile so that I can start mtpaint by writing "mtp" in the terminal.

The program runs fine, it's fast, and even though it isn't hildonized, it's quite usable.

This version should have some shortcuts to hide the toolbars:
http://bundyo.org/maemo/mtpaint/mtpa...20-3_armel.deb

Most of them are bound to F keys though.

Thanks a lot, the extra screen real estate is great!

Any plans for updating this to the latest version of mtpaint?
