It's so sad that I'm only using the N900 to watch trailers (from Ovi store). Anyone know how to download movies to N900?

Clarify your question doesn`t make sense.

Download a DVD? - wget
Play a DVD (.vob)? - mplayer
Rip a DVD? - insert it where on the N900?

You download movies to the N900 the same way you download movies to your PC :|

there are many ways to trabsfer movie files to your unit you could install TinySMB from AppMan or try what i do i hope this can help you

in your windows pc:
download the Java Mini Web Server
http://www.jibble.org/miniwebserver/

save it on some folder
c:\somefolder

then goto cmd (click on Start -> Run -> type cmd then enter)
cd to c:\somefolder

from there execute the jar file
type: java -jar simplewebserver.jar

on your n900
click on browser then point to the ip of your windows pc

or the easiest way is you could just plug in your n900 to pc as storage device then copy over the files

Transmission is a way to get movies directly to n900.

Transmission drains the battery like an alchoholic drains his pint. Download onto your PC then use the USB. My computers copying speed is about 11MB/s. DVD movies only take about 30 minutes to download using a 800Kb/s internet speed. The files are about 1.3Gb. It takes around 1m 30s to move it to the N900. SiB is the best player. Download subtitles and give the subtitles the EXACT same filename and it will open subs automatically

If you can compromise with the quality factor, you can download most of the movies and TV scoops from http://www.fzdownloads.com/. Many are available in Avi format and low size, so faster downloads.

Google EZTV. They do HDTV rips and they're always .avi files. Zero stuttering on default media player, 98% of the screen is filled (only the top and bottom are missing a few pixels).
