you can install the deb from the N900, then
and now you have a old gui 
Don't touch the "about" button, or you must kill the application from a another pc.

meldolion, is it working for you? I tried couple of songs, it didn't played them, nor did it download.
the music gear app running on the n900 was one of the most valuable music application. it would be great having it also for the n9. does someone know how much effort it is for converting such an app?
