I've turned it on and off a few times already and it's the same, empty call log. What else will work?

As suggested in thread http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=56037 , you can open terminal, type this one magical command:
Code:
rm -rf .rtcom-eventlogger
(there shouldn't be any errors displayed) and reboot your phone after it. The downside is: it will wipe your while previous call and messages history.

if you're afraid of loosing stuff, but still don't want to play with root commands, I suggest you this:

1. Open backup application (it's in application menu)

2. Create new copy, when it asks you what to copy select just "Communication and calendar"

3. After creating backup copy open terminal

4. Type
Code:
rm -rf .rtcom-eventlogger
5. Reboot your phone.

6. Open backup application and restore your last backup which you made just few minutes ago.

7. Reboot your phone once again

This solution should keep the same amount of messages and calls from the past as ktchiu's suggestion, but my option needs only typing one command in terminal, rest are programs with graphical user interface.
