I can have my N900 hooked up for days, wks, sometimes mths on end.
When I leave it it looks like it's started charging normally (indicates that).
But when I pull-it-off the charger it indicates the battery is low.
Like it has barely been charged since I left it!
What's that all about, could I have a faulty USB connector
How best to approach this? Thank-you.

download bq27200.sh script (by shadowjk, based on work of joerg_rw) and use it during charging - You'll se info about many things, including current flow to/from device (i.e. if it's actually charging, and if yes, what ammount of current is put to battery)

Honestly, there is plentora of thread about charging/measuring/etc (see link in my signature), which, probably, is a reason, why You've not received any response
