Just curious, what's the reason for the N9 not being "fixable" by Nokia "Care"?

I talked to Nokia Care today and they said my N9 can't be fixed. It's long gone... I tried to search for another N9 to get but I wasn't able to find a single one. Now, I am stuck with getting a temporary Galaxy Ace 2 by the time Jolla arrives
