I have a problem with MediaBox. It is often crashing, especially when I scroll down the list of artists in music section. But sometimes also in different situations. The same thing happens to Opera, but rather rarely, I must admit. Does anybody know what is the reason?

Thank you for fast reply! If this is a memory problem - how to check it and how to manage it?

Run the said programs from the terminal and look at the output. If it is indeed a memory problem, there is nothing you can do, unfortunately n900 have a relatively small amount of RAM by todays standards. That was one of the main reasons for the making of neo900.

OK, I will do it. But the version of MediaBox I am using is written especially for N900, so there should be no problem with memory.

I've been testing memory usage. It is used in 50%, although swap is also used in about 7 %. So this is rather not a memory problem. I ran in X-Terminal command "dpkg --configure -a" to chek if all dependencies are properly configured. Everything is correct. So I still have no idea what is wrong.

Mediabox is a player with the best sound quality. I don't know how it is done, but low frequencies (basses) are really amazing. Other players have problem with it. So I am desperate to resolve problem with crashing.

Best sound quality?
I dunno about that.
rockbox is excellent...I concur...
also xmms with the equalizer and all the tweaks ...
kilikali is excellent too ...loudest...clearest...cleanest I know of .
been using both for years and they are superb.
kilikali is light on the battery in compare too.
I can't recall now...are either of those available for fremantle or is it just chinook/ diablo?
hmmm..actually other than perhaps xmms with easy deb. that is.
If they aren't available ...they should get ported over.
oscp works fine on the nxx0

but man...I have never had a prob with audio players crashing due to the tunes. Crashing due to other issues sure...solvable and it was the players at fault...
I don't think that is the players that is the prob here.
You got some serious prob. with the device I be thinkin'
