Hello everyone.

Yet I have searched, but there are two information on the N900 that I can't find.(even on the Nokia website):

- The screen can reproduce how many colors? 56k (like N810), 256k or 16M?

- What are the exact characteristics of the audio out on Jack 3.5mm? SNR, impedance min and max, frequency responses (15 to 20Khz?), Etc. ...
And very important: is there a little noise, a little "shhhh" as on the N810?

Does anyone know where I can find these information?

I never noticed any noise from mine. I guess your best bet is to look at the Nokia official specifications. Beyond that, you'll have to wait until people here start receiving them.

He must have good hearing and good headphones to hear this noise on the N810.

Outside, with the ambiant noise it's dificult to hear this noise, but when there's silence ....

Make that "good hearing or good headphones".
Actually, make that "good hearing or low impedance headphones".

I tried listening to the N810 with old Ultimate Ears SuperFi 3 studio earphones, which only have 13 ohms impedance. It was impossible to use them without the included airplane adapter. The noise was very noticeable even at moderate volumes - felt a bit like listening to a walkie-talkie.

I have high hopes for the N900 because of the included (if we can trust the kernel sources) TPA6130A2 headphone amplifier. On the N810, volume control was purely on the digital side, causing much worse SNR with decreasing volume.

I'd love to see specs or reports about "ears-on" experience, too.

You could file an enhancement request in bugs.maemo.org against maemo.nokia.com (one issue per report).[/QUOTE]

Yeah, I've played music through my N810 on the monitors down at the studio and the hiss is definitely quite noticeable. Although the overall sound quality of the audio on the N810 is actually surprisingly good, even with super high-end equipment, if you're willing to over look that. A good work around is to keep the N810 volume low and amp the volume elsewhere with your equipment (assuming you have low S/N as well, of course ).

I'm very anxious to hear about the N900's sound quality...

New information are there:

On the Nokia website, if you compare the N900 with another mobile by clicking on "Compare", you see.... you see...... :
Display colors: Up to 16 million colours
But, if there is no error on the website...

While waiting to have the technical details of the audio output, what testers of N900 think about the sound quality?

You can always use a BT headset with 3.5 jack, like nokia BH-214. I am not able to hear hiss on my current headphones from n900 though.

Hmm, I thought the N810 had 16M color screen....
