The phone is what is; IMO its not worth the price of admission if you don't tinker with it (but as I do it's totally worth it!).

That's what the community is all about, isn't it? You might as well just stay with the default settings and play it safe, if you wish. In my opinion, however, this device is open for trial and error, and I don't see anything wrong in asking for guidance if it's needed. So please, don't judge me, nor others, who attempt to do such things, as everyone makes mistakes from time to time.

The problem was NOT related to kernel power settings, but to PR 1.2 update itself; sorry for the confusion. I have proposed a solution to such problem in my previous post.

I also updated to 1.2, installed kernel-power-settings and noticed the internet being broken. However, being a ******, i tried to uninstall kernel-power-settings through the app-manager. The uninstall appeared to go fine, I rebooted. Now my OS is dead

When I try to power on, it displays the NOKIA screen, then goes black for a second, then goes back to the NOKIA screen. Infinite loop until I remove the battery

Any way to fix this via the flasher or do I have to return the phone to nokia?

Is it important to flash emmc as well? I have flashed only the PR1.2 firmware just after it was released. Is it ok, or there are some drawbacks of not having flashed the emmc afterwards as well?

Cheers,
Ralph

emmc is not so important, just flash and your phone will work again

just backup on your mmc sd card on your phone, and after the flash, just restore it.

everything is back

that's a minimum if you whant to play with this phone..........

you can stil use the nokia software on your pc,
and there you have also the backup option, like in your phone.

but your backup is then on your pc instead of phone.
