Hi !

Until recently the CPU of my N900 would be around 5%.

The other day however the application 'Nokia Panorama' frooze - and crashed the system. And it keeps doing that.

I noticed that the CPU was constantly on some 20 - 40/50%.

I ran all the possible updates but it has not changed.

I deinstalled 'Nokia Panorama' and tried to reinstall, but I got an error message (no room left).

When I look with Conky to see what processes are high it shows Xorg mostly at 6 - 10%, some hildon etc.

So, anybody a sugesstion how to solve this?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Done that - X times ;-)

What I forgot to tell is, that I have 3 packages being 'kept back':

libsdl-mixer1.2
pyside-qt4
python-pyside
I am afraid it is this pyside stuff.

I have had (a lot of) trouble with that before.

It's a suspicion - I am not sure.

It also could be one of the new apps I installed recently ..

Is there a way - listing - to find out what one has installed last 2 weeks?

Download faster application manager from the repos

Hit install application > S @ base and sort by installed > Sort option & select date

This will put tye application into newest intalled at the top, you will have to go into each application to check the install date manualy

make sure you are comparing the same cpu speed, if its running at 20% and less than 600mhz it is a non-issue. i'd be worried if its using 20% @ 800+mhz though. if its just xorg and hildon using the cpu, it might be normal.

It's overclocked and running at 950mhhz.

That has been stable for some 8 months now.

yes but when its using 20% verify that the cpu clock is still at 950, its supposed to drop down lower by itself, and then the higher cpu usage doesn't matter! 20% is low enough that it should be running at the lowest speed...
