There are a few apps (such as nuevasync) that I've noticed are not in the default repositories. Where can I find information on how to add more repositories with these apps?

e: oh, you didn't mean a thing. you wanted "'other' repositories", not "other repositories". fcking quotation marks.

Aren't the emulators back in extras-* anyway, removing the need for that repo?

Hi,

thanks for the effort to compile this list but you should add a warning about some of the repositories..

extras-devel: not intended for endusers as it contains unstable software in development wich might mangle your system for good. If you are going to install from there be prepared to reflash your device!

extras-testing: should contain stable software with the biggest glitches ironed out. use at own risk

non-maemo repositories: those might(!!!) be dangerous to your device as there is no community testing and automated testing like auto-builder at the maemo-repositories. Again: use at own risk as it might brick your device, force you to reflash or eat your children ;-)

If you are a "regular" enduser you should stick to extras and Ovi repository, this software can be considered stable and secure to your device.

Regards,
Glasswalker

And don't forget the security problems that arise with external repositories. One could supply an "update" for an application you've installed, that uses malicious code to get your passwords.

I think there have been a couple other threads about this recently. Anyway, I have a small list of repos here:
