It is the same old question??

How the hell can series 40 phones with a minuscule CPU and scanty ram
stream audio to a headset whereas the nokia N8x0 tablets with much powerful CPU and loads of ram struggle to output HSP letalone A2DP??

There was no mention of this feature coming up in diablo ..... so can any one confirm or deny this. This is soooooooooooooo frustrating. NOkia has been enticing us with the prospect of having A2DP in the "Future"...... but dont you guys thing the future is already here??

Please nokia please we want A2DP.

I remember Handful (from Canola and INDT) saying that they had worked a lot on bluez to bring A2DP ...
And if you look at the bluez commit ML you'll see a lot of commit from nokia on audio parts ...
So with a little bit of luck we might have something ...

Yeah, they had optimised bluez.
Also,
https://garage.maemo.org/frs/?group_id=655 if this could be done for A2DP, it would be perfect.

How is that concerned with A2DP?

Thats one of the first codecs to use dsp . if the code somehow be used to transfer a2dp decoding to the dsp, the cpu's load wouldn't be heavy.

don't use the cpu and instead make the dsp do the a2dp communication. that's how

Is anyone actually interested in helping to do SBC on the DSP?

No-one seems to be very interested in tremor-on-dsp (https://garage.maemo.org/projects/dsp-tremor/) anymore.

If people would like to help hack something together then I'm quite happy to start work on it, as long as I don't have to do it all myself (as I need to finish the tremor stuff too).

Sounds nifty, but too many other NIT irons in the fire right now.
