After a successful participation in Google Summer of Code '09, the Maemo Community intend to apply this year again, in order to have a strong proposal we need everybody's help. We are currently looking for project ideas, mentors and backup mentors.

Do have a killer idea for a Maemo application ? Add it here: http://wiki.maemo.org/GSoC_2010/Project_ideas

If you want to help as a mentor or co-mentor, read this instructions: http://wiki.maemo.org/GSoC_2010/Mentors

For this year, we intend to concentrate the students effort around end-user applications, but improvements to other projects under the Maemo/Meego umbrella are also acceptable and welcome.

Please note this is a very good opportunity for those that miss some apps in Maemo, if so please raise you voice

After last year's GSoC debacle, anything that has absolutely nothing to do with Canola.

And please, can we limit how many ideas are accepted per application/component this time around?

Was like take Canola's projects or nothing, we didn't had better projects with mentors and students assigned, of course otherwise we had established a limit.

I have at least one project to submit and will do so soon.

Wish I had the experience to be a mentor for this... I'll bet it's a blast.

Well, you can be a backup mentor, you have enough skills for that and knowledge of the community in case you need to show the way to a student(i.e. Absence of the mentor, extreme case, luckily didn't happened last year with us)

Valerio, I may have killed the design of your nice table... I'm really bad with wiki's so feel free to move/delete if it's bothering.

Oh goodie, a way to pawn off my excessive projects on wide-eyed hacker kids.

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?
MAME: an arcade in your pocket
Accelemymote: make your accelerometer more joy-ful

Bump

We are about to submit a proposal for GSoC '10, so if anyone want to be a mentor/backup mentors is the best time to jump in.

More project ideas are also more than welcome.
