Could it be SailfishOS itself or just launcher?
OR just blurry photos of Jolla phone?

(Note: Source is phonearena, not so reliable? )

Nice rumour, even if it might turn out to be false

As the post is a couple of days old and just to be clear.
It isn't going to happen. Meizu will stick with Android and the screenshots did show just the SailfishOS Launcher for Android (the debug message screenshot looks exactly like that)

Love These threads. Keep Em coming.

Meizu with preimstalled ubuntu and sail. Release tomorrow?

I would love if they teamed up in tag team style.

Let's make mark and mark a couple.

No chance.

Meizu already has 2 home-baked Android flavours and Ubuntu Touch.

Still, as of now, the Ubuntu Touch phones are the most exciting thing to happen to Sailfish so far, as it should be super-duper easy to port Sailfish, unlike to Android phones. Albeit I guess there may still be problems, as Sailfish relies on now rather archaic libs from Android 4.1, UT uses 4.4 and will move to 5.0 from my understanding.

It doesn't remotely rely on 4.1, we run same OS with differing HW adaptations ranging from Mesa-LLVMpipe (emulator) to 4.1, 4.2, 4.4, .etc on different devices.

Thanks for clarifying. Thought I'd read elsewhere that it relied on 4.1

Does borrowing bits from different versions not cause problems, though?

Not as much as you might hope. The whole 'port SailfishOS to devices with community' thing really helped a lot in that regard and strengthened the platform.
