So basically, i don't want to start some console war (if you really must then just look here, PS4 is a minimum of 50% more powerful)

This is more a thread on what seems to be world-wide media censoring. Look at this:
http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/21/editorial-xbox-one/
http://www.forbes.com/sites/forreste...rs-hands-down/
http://www.forbes.com/sites/nigamaro...-new-xbox-one/

Yet this is the reality:
in the UK the 3 major providers Sky, Virgin Media and YouView have already said they have no plans to even support the device let alone partner with it.
Ign poll, 75% of readers disappointed with Xbox 3
http://www.gamerevolution.com/featur...es-worst-asset
http://elitedaily.com/news/technolog...going-to-suck/

Why is it only smaller, non-mainstream media outlets that seem to be giving, balanced, actual even-handed news reporting?
I'm kind of disappointed in myself, looking at some of these "news reports" I've had to lean on just to write this post, but weirdly, these are the only ones with any actual facts.

Quote from Engadget Editor, Tim Stevens:
Can you believe we've had the Xbox 360 since 2005? As a child of the two- or three-year console cycle, a system still going strong after eight seems inconceivable. Finally, it's being put out to pasture
I find it equal parts shocking and hilarious, the PS1/2/3, have all had 10-year lifespans (if not more), oh, but maybe I forget because the Xbox 1 was only available for 4 years?

And weirdly this leads back to arguably the biggest grief we have here at TMO, Windows and the US market. The same strange reasoning that led Nokia to abandon MeeGo for Win, for a perceived home-ground advantage in "the greatest economy", is exactly Microsoft's reasoning in the Xbox 3.

How can nobody from any major "respectable" publication see that the average buyer, is not a broadband-connected, monthly-fee paying American, and this kind of thinking just isn't ok in a global market?

Buy Sony, Buy Jolla.

Hint: Don't buy Microsoft

Closing funny video, Ironically my biggest fear

To be honest Xbox One sucks:
- Always connected or connected to the internet at least every 24h
- Won't work without Kinect
- Can't really rent, borrow, lend games
- Not the highest end graphics
- Multiplayer requires an Xbox Live subscription
- Games need to be installed from BluRay to work
- No support for Xbox, 360, or Arcade games
- Not indie friendly
- (unconfirmed) Likely no Bluetooth connectivity
- Box looks ugly (not my opinion but a fact, it also stores all your household dust inside the little crevices)

Here's hoping that SONY's PS4:
- Doesn't fvck things up
- Costs equal
- Is a sleek looking unit
- Becomes more popular than the One

....otherwise there's the OUYA which might become Nexufied and get The Google Market and its ability for Game Saves, Leaderboards and Trophies (integrated to G+)

I agree with both of you, but more about what I was trying to say, why is the media saying the X3 is so great?

Seriously, everything from every major news group is singing X3 praises and trying very hard to gloss the PS4 superiority..

I smell shenanigans!

It's MS.
They've got their hands in so many pants, its bound to happen.

The Xbox One is a great machine for developers and for MS (mo' money).
It's not so great for consumers as its even more restrictive than Apple and its iOS-Platform.

Sorry but even the name sucks.
Despite all of this, I think it will be success (unlike Wii U). I just hope its success is fairly limited and eclipsed by the PS4... otherwise, for MS to peddle back on their decisions (Unlike-ly).

Here's a good gif that explains the situation:

In one of the Gamespot global polls conducted through Twitter, the PS4 was leading by a huge margin. I think it was getting 80%+ votes. Even in the US it was leading

Consoles, pffft.

Only thing i care is that they're now x86, which means porting games shouldn't be much of an issue anymore, and that *finally* graphics will get better instead of the usual blurry textures and cheap lightning.

For me, a PC user, PS4 will only make things better.

The reason is, everybody notice M$ squezing the wallets, why pay for content that you already paid for? M$ think you have to pay gold membership just to access to a plain app that let you watch tv from your provider, even when M$ dont stream sh?t from their servers.
I'm out of any M$ products, they are just wrong.
