This has happened to me as well,(the removing all widgets problem) but it seems to have only started happening in the last few weeks maybe. It never used to do it. So I installed version 0.6, added desktop clock widget and it was fine until I changed the size. It seems to happen randomly though, rather than by theme for me. I have had gtk carbon clock on my desktop for a while (from gnome-look.org) with no problems, but I now find I don't want to risk adding the clock to my desktop, because I have a lot of qbw and other widgets, and it takes a long time to keep re-adding them all. As I say, I upated to 0.6. Any other ideas?

bigears edit the file:
Code:
/etc/hildon-desktop/home.safe-set
and add the paths to widgets you know are safe/don't crash hildon-desktop.

The paths for your widgets can be found here:
Code:
/usr/share/applications/hildon-home/
Don't add Desktop Clock until it's stable or you could/will end up in a constant hildon-desktop crash loop.
The next time Hildon-desktop crashes you wont loose widgets.

Right. Cheers. I ended up up in crash loop last night. Just happened out of the blue, and I wondered what had caused it. Thanks for help.

Not tested:
Maybe you can just use a rotated theme?

It works:
here the white hour and minute hand (clock-hour-hand.svg/clock-minute-hand.svg)
is rotated and the gray hour and minute hand are the normal (not-rotated) hand shadow
(clock-hour-hand-shadow.svg/clock-minute-hand-shadow.svg)

No I do have a clock with QueenBeecon Widget but I've ereased it when installed this one.
Maybe related to the theme?
