Here he says he's not sure if he will finish the application, and says there are things about Sailfish OS he doesn't like ( Says the power management is like on Android, what do you think he meant by that?) and cannot justify the purchase of Jolla device to himself :/

Well, that's a quote from April (and March), so nothing new here (except for the power management, that has changed completely Now you can always ssh into the device.).

Well, seems he has lately worked a bit on it.

I don't think that the fundamental concept actually changed - if you leave an application running and turn of the screen it will still be frozen after a while AFAIK. They probably just fixed the WiFi wakeup, so that the device wakes up once it gets a packet over WiFi so you can connect over SSH even when it is not plugged in.
