On gitorious is project http://gitorious.org/nokia-n900-kernel which has some patches for N900 2.6.37 kernel. It is working? Does anybody try it to replace 2.6.28?

That's mostly for MeeGo and other non-Maemo systems. Maemo closed-source relies on a bunch of interfaces that is deprecated or non-existent in .37.

So there is no chance that Maemo will have updated kernel to .37?

Not without changing some of the closed binaries (though MeeGo does have bme, a minimal mce, the SGX drivers, and the modem drivers, so it might be doable if someone has the time to do it.

It might be more realistic to think in terms of back-porting desired features to 2.6.28.

I did not look at .37 kernel yet.

Maybe someone else (developers of nokia-n900-kernel) can help you.
