I'd like to see some chiptune support. Stuff like SID/NSF/SPC... all of which are in the various gstreamer packages already from what I understand.

My understanding is the Archos 5 (last year model) and the N900 have the same exact chipset. I have the Archos 5 and it plays 720p. Not sure what good it is on a 3.5" device, but it plays on the Archos 5 very smoothly (4.8" screen). The Archos 5 has component output for home theater, so I can understand having it on that.

N900 has composite out.

That seems to be correct re: OMAP3 usage by both n900 and archos 5. However the current situation is that 720p resolution files are rejected by the dsp decoders used in the N900. Best to file a bug report if you really want 720p playback on a system that has a max resolution of 800x480. I believe the dsp video decoders on thne n900 have been made by TI (makers of the OMAP3) while ones that support 720p on same hardware have been done by 3rd parties like Ingenient. I may be wrong on this though.

it should install the gstreamer plugins for ogg/flac as well. so users don't have to install ogg package if they got "Decoders Support" installed.

Thanks for the work, just a question...when can we expect the decoders to be in Extras?

From the looks of it the app needs more testers / upvotes before it even has a chance to get into extras.

Plus, it needs a bugtracker so its not going anywhere.
