I am pretty sure it can be done...there's already code to catch those keys and use them for zooming (instead of defaulting to not catch them and use them as volume keys).

So I am looking through xo-hildon_ui.h and I have found where all the buttons are hard coded. I see the function:
Which looks promising. My excitement was not long lived as I realised that there is not an entry that dealt with how the volume keys are used. Or am I wrong?
All I want to do is assign pen button 1 to left volume button and assign pen button 2 to right volume button.
How do I do this?j

What are you trying to achieve?
How to implement eraser, highlighter in full screen mode without the keyboard!
Xournal has support for input styluses with 2 buttons (3 including 'stylus down' condition). Traditionally these buttons select between middle click and right click.
Is it possible to have xournal interpret buttons 2 + 3 as F7 + F8 (the volume keys)? This would allow us to configure the volume keys to behave as ANY tool we wanted!
If you make this so I will buy you approximately 100 bears.
