Dave Neary, our hard-working docmaster, has posted the following on his blog:

The voting tokens have just been sent out for the Q1 2010 Maemo Community Council elections.

I already have over 100 bounced emails, so if you think that you should have a vote and you have not received an email with a voting token yet, please send me an email or leave a comment, I will look up your Maemo username and send you on the voting token/email combo we have on record so that you can vote.

Voting runs until March 30th – you can find more information about the election and the council in the Maemo wiki.
Please make sure your e-mail address at maemo.org is correct!

And please be sure to VOTE!

Just a note about this voting system:

Your first choice is the most important. Only if your first choice is eliminated will your second choice be considered.

I'll also re-post the Election timeline (from this post), with the finished portions crossed off.

Election timeline

All deadlines are set at 23:59 UTC.
  • February 10: Election announced
  • March 2: Deadline for karma for electorate
  • March 2: List of potential candidates published
  • March 2: Nominations open
  • March 16: Nominations close
  • March 17: List of candidates announced
  • March 23: Voting opens
  • March 30: Voting closes

Hi all,

For those who had not noticed yet, voting is now open for the Q1 2010 Maemo Community Council elections.

If you had a maemo.org account created on or before Dec 31 2009 and 10 karma or more at the start of the election process, then you are entitled to vote. Even if you linked your Maemo accounts after Dec 31, but you had created your Talk account before then, you were eligible to vote.

What follows is the instruction email which those of you who qualify to vote should have received yesterday. If you did not, please contact me here or at dneary@m.o, and I will either explain why you didn't get a token, or issue you your token (about 150 tokens bounced).

----

Dear <member>

The election of the Maemo Community Council is now open, and you have received this email as you are eligible to vote. The Maemo Community Council consists of 5 members who serve a 6 month term, representing the community to Maemo and helping facilitate community activities. You can learn more about the community council at:

Voting will run from March 23rd until March 30th 2010, 23:59 UTC.

Your voting credentials are:

URL: http://maemo.org/vote/
E-mail:
Vote token:

After authenticating yourself, you can choose your preferred candidates in order of preference. You will have an opportunity to verify and confirm your vote afterwards.

Thank you for your vote!

Oh come on, Dave. You told me to start the thread, and then you started one an hour after mine? Bah.

Sorry dude! After I asked you to create the thread, Niels said "There's nothing on Talk", so I took the initiative (but didn't see your thread first).

Dave.

I corrected it on maemo.org/vote - but I've been copying & pasting the candidate list around the place & forgot!

Sorry.

Dave.
