your app can be easily scripted, as parameters are inserted in url line,

Does it work with gpsd / bluetooth gps ?

If yes, in theory voice can be set on for routing commands.

So gps, voice and what next ,
what about voice control ,
does maemo support voice control, voice recognition ?
If you install maemo-geolocation it will support GPS. Not sure on older tablets though, it needs some geo-location add on.

Maemo does not support voice control or voice recognition (though theoretically it's possible).

thanks
just testing great maeMaps "Webapp" app by twaelti on PC,
as N 770 is to slow and js stops running.

Interface is really nice.
How to enable maemo-geolocation in N 770 known as gpsd,
reading GPS data from a remote GPS device connected vie bluetooth,
as MM can connect to remote GPS device to get geolocation ?

First 7 waypoints I get from London - Paris routing
are not clickable.

Suggestions for new features known from MM:

POI database/s,
Layers
Rotate
Go to: Lat/Lon , Address, GPS location, Next Waypoint, Nearest POI

History

thanks

Darius

Hmm seems like it has the same problems MaemoMapper did. If you type in the wrong name/address or something close to it Google will usually recommend solutions that could be it.

E.g. today I typed in Arundel Mills, MaeMaps couldn't find it (kept saying location error). If you type it into maps.google.com it'll give you alternatives that were close to what you typed.

In early days of Google Maps I did a number of test apps.
The issue is js runs slow in web browser.

But maeMaps is fast-develop web interface, so any option is open.
Works great, can be scripted to run in interactive mode,
access database of POIs and more.

flite integration with waypoint infos + driving direction are my next choice.

Congratulations.

follow-up

maemo-geolocation for Nokia 770
to let javascript to read and update GPS location fix
within maemaps.html web page

Please tell me if js code on html page can read gps location code
from gpsd, like maemo-mapper,
moved by shell script to some place/ directory, accessible via
web browser running javascript.
---

follow-up
patched mm 2.6.2 works great and bluetooth gps can be connected,
so last long/lat fix can be CLI.

Hello!
maemaps is a nice tool
is it possible to use http://www.google.com/maps/m instead of http://maps.google.com/maps ?
its a touch optimized webpage but there is nothing to zoom out like in maemaps. The route an search function would be a litte better.

greets, Andi

Thanks, Andi! That's a cool link. Really amazing for saying how to get from point A to B in my hometown (Seattle) *by bus*.

No problem
BrentDC found a way to do static zoom, so i've created the following site:
http://n900maps.ath.cx - works nice with the maemo-geolocation plugin!
Have fun

Nope. It's pretty much like using Google Maps on the computer.
