Her voice didn't shock me --- it is beautiful --- , but what did shock me was how everyone was totally against her before she even performed. At least on American shows like Idol, the judges (it's like there's a different Simon) and audience don't already judge someone based on how they look.

Remember the Norwegian plumber in World Idol? Same thing.

I didn't make any judgment on looks-- read my blog article today and you'll see why. But I was a little shocked that someone her age sounded so well. When I was in my teens and early 20s I had a decent singing voice myself-- but now at 47 the years have sure taken their toll. I do good to talk sometimes.

Anyway, that video made my day.
