Yes, that is indeed a great idea. Transparent back cover would be nice

also it'd make life way more easier as along with having colour variety wont need to worry about it breaking or getting dirty/discolourated
(btw im not talking about a case/cover im talking about the backplate from the phone's housing tough a back cover's cool too i guess)

Not so difficult to design in Solidworks or OpenSCAD, but just so you know 3D printing resolution for the plastics you really want nylon/ABS are limited and making a cover which snaps on vs one held with screws can be tricky and will almost surely require some post processing with acetone and some grinding; even then the strength will not be even 1/3 of an injection molded part.
If you could make technical drawings with all of the minkowski circle to rectangle combinations angles etc for the edges and where the snap lugs are I could throw you a prototype if you have access to a 3d printer. I need measurements accurate down to at least 1/10th of a mm. You can hand draw pretty badly and photograph just so I get an idea, the only important thing is the measurements and angles are correct. In fact you can post them here and if I do not check this thread for a while PM me.

The problem is creating stl-file.
For Jolla 1, Jolla has piblished the TOH- stl,
so everybody could make/purchase TOHs from this stl-File.

For Jolla C / Intex - somebody need to create it.

The offer still stands, do all measurements post them here and I can design and upload a .stl file and the OpenSCAD code here and to thingiverse.com
Review with a 3D model viewer and post any edits that need to be made.
I still am not sure how well it would turn out though, FDM printing, the kind which squirts layers of plastic is likely not the best way to make a cover but you could get a printing service to do it for you and see.

I think if you shot a photo and then added the dimensions and locations of functional parts it would be easiest.
then I can at least compare by scale to check your work.
