If you remove "Phone" from that statement, you could be right.

Sure, they announced to bring a phone with it this year:

But I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

Folks, this in a sense is old news. Way back in January Will Cooke demonstrated LibreOffice running ON A PHONE..

Yes, it is hardly consumer ready but the recent video shows that Unity8 can do it fairly seamlessly and that things are coming along.

Just noticed the xwayland packages have one more issue in 2.0.0.10 (dunno when it happened), namely that it appears just black even if i have e.g. xterm there - but only when in foreground. the xterm is visible in the task switcher and during swipes...

Really I'd like to help with getting this usable but ...... yeah time and I'd need to learn lots (like how to use the obs for real...).

And also I'd say: do whatever you need to do to make it work, jolla will very obviously not help with this.

Since October last year Xwayland should support rotation and resize:
https://lists.freedesktop.org/archiv...er/024640.html
As all apps show on tablet in portrait and in a really small size (the display is a beast). Will be making a bounty for the input part, not much, but with resize this would make so many apps usable on the tablet, will update with link to the thread

edit: the bounty thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=1504210

If anybody knows how OBS works. We should try to apply the wl_seat.patch.
