Hello, I'm seeking a fully functioning N900. Preferably in Australia.

I've only learnt about this type of phone this month. Are there any threads/pages for "must do's" after acquiring a (stock?) N900?
Update to Maemo 5? Bloatware to remove? Best/fastest browser?

Feel free to contact:
michael.ait .a. h0tmail com

Cheers.

Welcome to the glorious world of Maemo!

I reside at the opposite side of the world and cannot help you with obtaining a device but stick around and sooner or later you will come across someone offering one near you.

Regarding your other questions -
  1. N900 already runs Maemo 5, also known as Fremantle.
  2. Here is another thread asking and answering nearly identical questions as you.
  3. Here is a thread about removing bloatware. Tread carefully and read all posts, some packages are safe to remove only if you never intend to use the related services (e.g. Exchange).

Thanks for your help.

I've now acquired 2 n900s. I've flashed 1 and put on CSSU, a few apps.... encountered a few hiccups with setup, will do some more research / ask a few questions soon. Will have to leave them both alone for awhile and wait till university holidays.

(Victoria - pick-up) A n900 has popped up on gumtree for $120AUD, for those looking to buy (looks like a dealer. I'm not affiliated).
