Other good (very good in fact) point: the browser. It is now damn fast ! Even for scrolling long pages. Really good release (currently).

Have any of you guys tried out the "a-gps" ui? When I estimated my position on the map and fired up maemo mapper, in less than a second I already had 9 satellites in view! But so far I have yet to lock on any of them...

That's how it seem to work... A-GPS only helps on "locating" satellites. Calculating fix still takes some fair amount of time. YMMW

And what were you waiting? 'sudo something' never work out-of-box.

Ahh, I see now. Got all excited to see that my N810 wouldn't take 10min to get a fix...

Penguinbaits deb clones the os but it cannot install bootmenu, and at the end of installing, it plays that "linus tolwards" sound

So is it documented that they raised cpu speed?

What he means is --- OMG I just confirmed it -- Sudo works out of the box! No more ancient repositories, no more need to run SSH with root access; real sudo is finally allowed
Now it just needs to let me do something... "user" is still not allowed to run even Ping as root, so the change is not as nice as it sounds.

Browser is definitely noticed. I was really annoyed by its startup time before, but now it is very quick.

Slashdot doesn't strangle the thing, either.
