There is mentioned that Surf2 could be Leste's stock browser and that some use Netsurf. Is there a reason why not to make Dooble the stock browser? If the current version in repos would be updated I think that would be a good browser with a lot of security options. Or am I wrong here and do niot know something? For me it seemed to work and load pages fast enough - untill I messed up something and it won't open anything.

I have searched the forum but nothing helping very much...
This sounds interesting but looks like pointing to an online sound file.

What is the command to play a sound file located into the n900 ?
Thanks!

surf will likely not be the stock browser for Leste. it is just mentioned as one of the browsers that some have used/tested. midori and netsurf.

The project is yet to decide on a browser.

Could Dooble then be an option or is there something against it? I haven't studied that maybe enough.

Looks good and seems maintained, so I suppose it could be an option.

I can answer that: Maemo Leste can boot from an SD Card in practice. I think it's the recommended way of using (testing) it atm.

Does it run on any GNU/Linux?

Excellent. Thanks. I'll have one SD for Leste and one for PostmarketOS then, SFOS on internal memory. Would it be possible to boot from two distinct partitions of the same SD card instead of having two cards?

If you have gst-launch it can play from anything, file or network.

#!/bin/bash
gst-launch-1.0 -t filesrc location="$1" ! decodebin ! autoaudiosink | grep "title:"

Yes, of course. You would need to edit the boot.cfg file accordingly, giving the correct rootfs parameters.
