If you are into hacking and modding, here’s the chance for you to start thinking on how you can connect the Nokia N900 to any device that you love, and possibly get your project funded by Nokia.

"The brief is simple: tell us how you would hack and mod the N900 & Maemo to connect the N900 to something you love. An expert judging panel will be selecting winning submissions and the groups behind them will receive N900 devices, funding and support to develop their PUSH idea. And once they’re complete, we’ll share them with the rest of the world with a series of installations in Nokia Flagship Stores across the globe."

I thought about PUSHing, but the site seems to be broken. All the links in the navbar show the same page with "Nokia PUSH N900. Now open for submissions.." in the subject. Tried with Firefox & Opera.

At the price Nokia are charging for this device, there'd better a "Find My N900" service, like the iPhone users have from MobileMe.

Great idea and good luck to anyone going for it. One thing I notice though is the deadline seems tight for individual entrants...

In a conversation with Tinker.it CEO Alex Deschamps-Sonsino after the demo, we were told that it took a group of 7 designers around 3 weeks to come up with the 4 objects – so with any luck, participants in PUSH N900 should be able to push the phone to its limits by October 5th.
...that's (7 x 3) / 4 = ~5 weeks per designer per object. And there's only 3 wks to Oct 5th... and entrants might only have one head :-)

with all the "error 404"-pages all over the site, i'm almost 100% sure this thng was designed by the same people who are responsible for ovi.com.

The Official Hackers Guide has been released, showing how to connect the N900 to the Arduino:
