Bunch of statistics:

- since the start of fundraiser campain, we've got more than 20k unique visitors!
- majority of the traffic (~60%) comes from the USA
- the biggest peak was caused by Hacker News story
- during that peak (hundreds of simultaneous viewers!) we were experiencing problems with oversaturated bandwidth, causing massive slowness of the website... turned our not all stuff was as compressed as it should be - oopsie :x
- thanks to merlin1991 we've got second server which is offloading static data - huge thanks! The situation improved dramatically after those two changes
- link to YouTube video got the highest amount of clicks on external links (~660). Second place (~450) belongs to Goldelico donation page and third (~220) to GTA04 homepage

When I'll find some spare time I'll probably create some Logstalgia video from server logs - I keep it open to show real time logs on the second monitor, it looked really neat yesterday

It was the first time I had to cope with such huge traffic - whole day on emergency mode! But I can't say it wasn't fun

Thank you all for such positive response to our project. However, the ride is not over, we still need to get almost 15k EUR! Hopefully it's just a matter of time

I was totally overhyped on this project since the day I noticed Joerg's mention about his idea on some Openmoko mailling list. Today I don't even know how to name this level of hype I feel right now

We do more than just listen to your phone calls over here.

Maybe it would be fun to list the total donations so far from each country, so we could get a little competition going. You Europeans talk a good game, but will you put your money where your mouth is?

This just came to my mind. Will the Neo900 be able to support very high capacity MicroSD cards in the future? Say, a 512GB or 1TB.. we might live to see those easily available/affordable in a few years!
Regards.

I love the idea. This is one of the rare situations where competition in national pride might end up in creating something good. As a Finn (with a Swedish forum nickname - what!?!) I personally challenge my Swedish brothers and sisters to show that you guys are not complete NSA lap dogs after all - you still appreciate open information, open hw and open sw available for everyone.

As a Finn I also challenge my fellow Finns. Do you guys have any idea where Nokia originated from? Do you know who this wonderful yet spicy Linus Torvalds person is - the man who brought us Linux kernel? Linux kernel is an every day thing driving millions of appliances (Android phones and all that...) It just works and you can actually review and compile it yourself if you don't have the faith in it. It is a beautiful boon to the whole of humanity and we should be proud of it.

How about showing that a piece of Finnish engineering can be used, upgraded and built on for years to come?

The US has been in top in most campaigns I have seen. If you counting traffic there is nothing strange, but US use to be in top of donations as well. The last campaign that I can think of where US donated most was the ubuntu edge:

I would love to see a country-by-country fight It's more fun...

I love projects/products that are funded/partly funded by the users!

Keep on rockin in a free world!

I like this idea very much, particularly of course since others seem to like it too
We'll see what can get done to make that happen. Sorry when things temporarily slow down a bit, we've been working hard during last few days and still are busy with sorting other stuff like "unknown destination" issues, VAT problem etc.

cheers
