i noticed that the applets in os2008 give less graphical info.
i.e. the wireless applet do not reflect if there is connection or not.
on the os2007 you could know if a bluetooth device was attached or your wireless connection status by just looking at the applets.

Yes, they are crap aren't they. Can we have the old ones back, I wonder?

Hm.. Actually I like them. Much easyer to "read" the info from them in a sunny palce.

Actually I think it provides the same info:

If a Bluetooth connection is active then the Bluetooth symbol turns blue (rather then white).

The network connection shows either a radiating phone (for phone connection), radiating waves (for connected Wifi), or is dimmed (for no connection).

I actually like them also. I think they will fit in better with a variety of themes/backgrounds and don't look as "dated" IMO.

+1 for the new icons
a bit suprised mroe colour wasn't used - say for the wifi radiating bits but otherwise much nicer
