Considering that SpiderOak supports Ubuntu/Debian/Fedora - would it be possible to get it to work on Maemo devices?

Maybe, but since it is a closed-source application you'd have to ask them to make a Maemo build.

If their coding practices aren't terrible (and since they already support Debian/Ubuntu) then they might be able to...

Well, their interface is very custom so not very likely. On the other hand JungleDisk's linux version is pure Gtk+ based so its probably portable (and I really like them

Do note, the RC file stores username and password in a world readable plaintext file.

I checked out the interface, and it's certainly not as easy to use as DropBox (which I also don't use, admittedly, because of distrust). Since they've released the source for the python client maybe someone can develop a better UI for it.

The annoying thing was that I couldn't get the desktop client to *not* want to search my whole user-space for files to back up. And you couldn't create sync folders until you did that... so.... no go for me.

Update! New version lets you choose if you want to save password or not.

Was going to start a thread about the spideroak maemo client, but i am glad i did a search first.

I cant get the thing to work on my n900. I install it, setup the login and it just stays on "connecting...". :-P

i have cssu and power kernel v47. Any ideas or tips to get it to work?
